Guitar Sound Effects

How to get the guitar sound effects to sound just like your favorite guitarist?

I must say that I was amazed what this little pedal can do. Features and especially the sound quality is way beyond what you would expect. It offers six different types of delay:

HI-FI which is a digital delay great to use for accurate repeats,

ANALOG which emulates analog delay units and adds warmth and a little colour to the overall sound as the sound decays.

TAPE ECHO which emulates old tape echo units surprisingly good with its random and unstable whirl makes the darker sounding repeats float across the room before dissapearing

MULTI TAP creates multiple echoes and operates as two delay units connected together, one set to long delays and other one for short ones

REVERSE repeats the signal backwards

MOD FILTER adds modulation and depth to the echoes, making it somewhat a choruslike effect.

HI-FI is great for spacey sounds, ANALOG and TAPE ECHO are great for those vintage delay sounds (think Pink Floyd, Eric Johnson, Hendrix…) and adding ambiance to your over-driven solos, MULTI TAP is a U2 in box, while REVERSE brings you to Jimi Hendrix/John Frusciante territory.

Output 1 is a passive bypass which ensures that when you turn the pedal off the echo effect stops immediately, while output 2 is connected to a spill-over circuit which is when you turn the pedal off the sound naturally decays which can be very useful.

This pedal is not true bypass but the buffer is so good that it doesn’t color the tone at all. Zero noise as well.

I guess you can not compare this to high end analog delay units or tape echoes (this is a digital unit after all), but the emulations are very good and plus it is small unit that spares you from carrying around those big tape echo units.

If you are after an affordable low price unit that offers the variety of sounds and covers most styles, you might give this little gem a try. I highly reccomend this unit as the value for money is unbeatable.

I give it only 3 stars for ease of use. Soundwise it should get 5 stars because it is easy to dial the sound and the knobs do exactly what they say but they are not that sensitive as well. The only downside is that in no way you can see at what position the knobs are if your eyes are more than 30 cm away from the pedal due to the silver knobs.

Overdrive and delay is a perfect match. A small amount of delay always gives ambience and new life to distorsions that tend to sound a little dry
